MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — The 400-foot beachfront swimming area at Santee Cooper’s Overton Park on Lake Moultrie opens Saturday, May 23, and remains open through Labor Day.
Overton Park, located five miles north of Moncks Corner, will be open daily to the public from
10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with certified lifeguards on duty. Hours will be limited to weekends once Berkeley County Schools resume in August.
Admission is $2 per person for ages 4 and up. A $40 family season pass allows unlimited entry for the 2015 season for up to four people.
Annual passes to Old Santee Canal Park are not valid at Overton. Shelter rentals are $25 each for the two smaller shelters and $50 for the larger shelter.
Directions to Overton Park from Moncks Corner: Take U.S. Highway 52 toward Florence, and turn left on Powerhouse Road. Veer right on Black Oak Road and travel 1.5 miles. Turn left on Short Stay Road, and make the first right onto Overton Park Lane. If traveling from Bonneau, St. Stephen or other areas to the north, the turn for Powerhouse Road will be on your right.
