SHULERVILLE, S.C.–Shortly after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, crews with the Jamestown Fire Department and Shulerville Fire Department responded to a house fire on Effie Road.
Firefighters say the homeowner, an elderly man, was transported to the hospital for burns he received to his face.
Crews say the house was destroyed, and the Red Cross was called in to assist the man.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and the homeowner’s name has not been released.
