ST. STEPHEN, S.C.–Firefighters say a Berkeley County woman is lucky to be alive tonight.
Authorities say around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, the driver lost control of her car on Old Mill Road.
St. Stephen Fire and Rescue responded to the scene where they say they had to cut the woman out of the vehicle.
She was taken to a local hospital for her injuries.
With the winter storm in effect for the lowcountry, first responders are urging drivers that if you must travel on the roads to drive slowly and be extra careful.
