MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to spokesperson Dan Moon, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a teen in connection with a bomb threat made Monday.
Authorities say deputies responded to a report of a threat left on an answering machine at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center on S. Live Oak Dr. in Moncks Corner.
A counselor at the center said she received a disturbing message on her answering machine Monday afternoon. According to the incident report, the suspect told the counselor that, “I’m going to blow your building up, b*tch.”
The counselor stated that she had been counseling an 18-year-old foster child named Aaron Drews but had recommended him for termination from the program. The incident report did not indicate why.
Moon says the investigation eventually led to the arrest of the teen who lives on Trenholm Drive in Summerville. He is charged with conveying false information regarding attempted use of a destructive device.
Drews is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday night.
