BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–There’s been yet another meth bust in Berkeley County. According to Dan Moon, spokesperson for the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested two people Monday for reportedly making the drug.
Moon says Whitney Burns Sapp, 33, and David Michael Barfield, 32, were both charged with attempt to manufacture meth and two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators say they searched the suspects’ Carnes Crossing home. Once inside, agents say they found many components consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine throughout the residence.
Both Sapp and Barfield were present during the search, as well as their 11-month old and two year old children, says Moon. A representative with the Department of Social Services was also present and placed the children under the care of the agency.
Both Sapp and Barfield remain at the Hill-Finklea Detention with bonds set at $70,000.00 each.
