CROSS, S.C. –The American Red Cross helped a local Berkeley County resident whose home was badly damaged in a fire Sunday. The fire took place on Spicers Landing Road in Cross, according to the American Red Cross.
The local fire department quickly responded to the fire. Volunteers with the American Red Cross not only provided financial assistance for food and clothing, but a comfort kit as well. The kit contained personal hygiene items and referrals to partner organizations to help with individual’s long term recovery.
Since the beginning of this year, the Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross, has already assisted more than 1,200 individuals who have been affected by some sort of disaster.
