BONNEAU, S.C.–The general election for the town of Bonneau won’t be taking place after all. It was originally scheduled for May 13th.
According to the municipal election commission for the town, the election was canceled after it was determined that only one candidate filed for each of the seats available.
Because no one has challenged the two council member candidates nor the longtime mayor, the commission has declared them each the winner.
Rembert Wrenn will continue in his role as the town’s mayor.
Allen June and J.C. Ray will serve on town council.
