DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C.–On Friday, Dorchester Co. deputies responded to a trailer located off of Highway 61 in the Givhans community.
Inside the trailer, deputies located the body of a young man. Dorchester Co. Coroner, Chris Nisbet, was then called to the scene.
Nisbet identified the body as belonging to 24-year-old Drew Shumway. An autopsy was scheduled today to determine a cause of death as well. Nisbet now says Shumway was murdered, having been shot in the back of the head.
No word of any arrests or suspects in this case at this time.
The young man’s last known address was at a home on Saint Johns Bethel Street in Moncks Corner. Nisbet said Shumway was originally reported missing.
