Coroner: Man killed after stepping in front of moving train

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner, Bill Salisbury, on Sunday at 10:30 p.m. a northbound Amtrak struck a Goose Creek man at the Hollywood Dr. Crossing.

The coroner has ruled the death as suicide.

Salisbury says the man was standing on the side of the tracks and when the train approached he stepped into the path of the train.

The death has been ruled a suicide.

The death was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Goose Creek Police Dept.
