BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—Shortly before 9 a.m. workers inside Google were forced to evacuate after a reported
bomb threat.
According to a source at the scene, about 300 employees evacuated to the company’s parking lot where they remained until about 3:30 p.m.
It was reported that a threatening note found in one of the portable toilets indicated that there would be an explosion.
Berkeley County sheriff deputies confirmed that they responded to the scene shortly after the building was evacuated.
The threat shut down a portion of Highway 52 for several hours.
Deputies searched several Google buildings for any sign of a bomb. So far, a search came up empty.
It’s not known who wrote the note.
