MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–The Town of Moncks Corner recently purchased a couple of lots on White Street and the adjacent lot on the corner of White and Heatley Streets. According to the town’s administrator, Marc
Hehn, those lots will be turned into green space and much needed parking for the downtown area.
However, Hehn says there is a slight problem.
Currently, there is a two-story house located on their purchased lot at 105 White Street.
As a result, town officials say the house must be removed, and say they’ll be looking for interested parties willing to take the house off of their hands.
Town leaders plan to list the house for removal at no cost to any qualified persons interested.
“We don’t know what the high bid will be and we don’t expect much,” said Marc Hehn, the town’s administrator. “We are asking the successful bidder to post $5,000 for any cleanup the town might have to do.”
