BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office, a Summerville man has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into as many as 10 vehicles in the Sangaree area.
Brian Daniel Coglaiti, 32, of Keowee Ct. has been charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property in connection with one of the break-ins with more charges pending.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the break-ins occurred late Tuesday May 6 and early Wednesday morning May 7, 2014. Numerous stolen items were found in the suspect’s vehicle which appeared to be abandoned in front of an address on Ruffin Rd. in Sangaree.
A neighbor of one of the victim’s was able to describe a suspicious man that was spotted earlier in the evening. Coglaiti, who matched that description, was taken into custody a short time later after being spotted by deputies in the vicinity of the break-ins.
Coglaiti is being held at the Hill-Finlea Detention Center pending more charges as the investigation continues.
