BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, early Friday morning 22-year-old James Allen Clarkin of Johns Island was walking on Clements Ferry Road when he was struck by a vehicle.
The coroner says Clarkin had been walking in the roadway and wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell.
Salisbury says his death has been ruled accidental. The accident was investigated by The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and The SC Highway Patrol.
