ST. STEPHEN, S.C.–For quite some time now, Small Town Restoration has made it a mission to beautify, restore, rejuvenate, revitalize and repopulate the town of St. Stephen and surrounding areas.
“We have several ideas for improvements and with funding and volunteers, plan to complete these and other projects,” said member Michele Stosick.
According to the Stosick, the group would eventually like to establish some type of recreational facilities and assistance programs for the youth and senior citizens.
“We will be painting, landscaping, remodeling and restoring some of the existing buildings in town in hopes of making the town more appealing to prospective buyers or tenants,” she added.
All of this, of course, takes money. Because this is a non-profit group, donations are always appreciated. On May 24th, the group will be holding its first golf tournament.
“The tournament is open to both men and women and to players of all skill levels. Prizes will be awarded, and the entry fee covers your cart and lunch,” stated Stosick.
The event will start around 9 a.m. at Walker Creek Golf Course on Tobacco Road just off Mendel Rivers Road. Golfers should register and be at the course no later than 8:15 a.m.
Early registration is welcome, but golfers can pay the day of the tournament.
To take part in the event, please make checks payable to “Small Town Restoration Inc.” Checks can be mailed to PO Box 249, St. Stephen, SC 29479, or dropped off at Walker Creek Golf Course. A signup sheet will be available at Walker Creek starting May 1.
Entry fee is $25 per person which includes cart, green fees, and food.
Prizes will be given, and lunch will be served at the end of the tournament. Tournament is open to both men and women golfers of all skill levels.
