MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Mark your calendars for the annual Independence Day celebrations in Moncks Corner. This year’s festivities will include a parade, a street party, and a festival.
The parade, which will follow a new route, will take place on the 4th of July and will begin at 7:00 p.m. The new parade route will begin behind Berkeley Alternative School and will follow Main Street. The parade route will turn left just before the railroad tracks at Behrman Street and will end at the vacant lot behind Town Square.
Plan to stay after the parade for the street party and dance. Music will be provided by Custom 4 and Friends band, and there will be food to purchase from local vendors. The dance party will be held from 8:00-11:00 p.m. in the Depot parking lot. Both the parade and the dance party are free to attend.
The fun continues on Saturday, July 5th with the Festival in the Park at the Old Santee Canal State Park. The festival will run from 2:00 p.m. until dusk and will culminate in a fireworks show to celebrate America’s birthday. There will be crafts, food, and activities for the entire family. There is a $1 entrance fee for visitors 12 and older; those under 12 will be admitted free.
If you have any questions regarding the parade or street dance, please contact Tammy @ (843) 899-4708 or email [email protected]. If you’d like to be featured in the parade, the Town of Moncks Corner will accept applications until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 27.
