South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of 65-year-old James Curtis Miles of Summerville, S.C. on three counts involving the sexual exploitation of minors. The Dorchester County Office, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, made the arrest.
However, it was the Berkeley County Sheriffâs Office, also members of the ICAC Task Force, that tipped law enforcement there off and inform them that images depicting children engaged in sexual activity had been disseminated from an account traced to Milesâ home.
Miles was arrested, and a laptop computer and more than 500 DVDâs were seized for investigation.
He is facing a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment for each count. A surety bond was set at $12,000.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
