BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is holding its annual Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Summer Deputy Camp for students 8-12 years of age.
Camp dates are July 14 through July 18, 2014 for those 8-12 years old. Participation is limited to the first 50 students who return a completed parental consent and registration form along with a check or money order for $75.00 made payable to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit, registration will be from May 01, 2014 thru June 30, 2014. Parental transportation is needed to the Berkeley County Emergency Services Training Center (474 Reid Hill Road, just behind the Wal-Mart in Moncks Corner) for student drop-off and pick-up. Check-in time for students is at 8:30 a.m. each morning of the camp and pick-up time is at 4:15 p.m. students lunch will be provided by Sheriff’s Office.
Bringing the community and Law Enforcement together as one family is the goal of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office “Summer Deputy Camp.”
Each day will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and a different theme for discussion. Some of the exciting activities include a hands-on Forensics Program, DNR Hunting and Fishing Simulator, Special Response Team and K-9 Demonstrations, Basic First Aid, Fire Department demonstration, Music “N” Motion, Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Water Park and more.
There will be a lot of interaction between the students and Sheriff’s Deputies who will chaperone them throughout the week-long camp.
