BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A fire Tuesday left one Moncks Corner family homeless. According to a spokesperson with the Red Cross, the Moncks Corner Fire Department responded to a call on Valdosta Lane. They quickly put out the flames; however, they were not able to save the family’s home.
The Red Cross stepped in and brought the one adult and two children comfort kits–which included personal hygiene items.
The organization also provided monetary assistance for food and temporary housing.
This family joins over 1,400 individuals who have been helped by the Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross since the start of 2014.
