Chip Boling also added that a crew chief was recently suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.  This person, he says, has since been reinstated.

After Bob Mixter resigned as EMS director in March, the county announced that Becky Blair, the Deputy Director of BCEMS, would serve as interim director until a replacement was found.

Recently, the county revealed that Steven Cotter will head up the county’s EMS operations.

“In his previous position, he redesigned deployment processes to help increase coverage and reduce response times. Although we have one of the best EMS programs in the state, we are excited about the ideas he will bring to help the department run more efficiently and provide expanded services to our citizens,” stated Dan Davis, Berkeley Co. Supervisor.

Cotter is scheduled to start work on July 21st.
