MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Santee Cooper has scheduled a planned power outage for 8 a.m. on Friday, July 4, to repair the main line that feeds into the St. Stephen substation, according to spokesperson Nicole Aiello.
The outage, which is expected to last around one hour, will affect approximately 1,000 Santee Cooper residential and commercial customers in the St. Stephen area.
“Planned outages are, at times, the only way we can repair equipment or lines while keeping the public and our line technicians safe,” said Marc Tye, senior vice president of customer service. “By preparing ahead of time and planning a short outage, we can mitigate lengthier outages in the future.”
In the event of unplanned outages, customers can report them online at www.santeecooper.com or by calling 1-888-769-7688.
Customers also can visit Santee Cooper’s Storm Center at www.stormcenter.santeecooper.com to view real-time outage information and estimated restoration times.
