GOOSE CREEK, S.C.—Berkeley Co. deputies are investigating a double shooting that took place shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to an incident report, officers were dispatched to the area of Smalls Hills Road and Back River Road where they found a man lying on his side near the embankment of a wooded area.
Officers said the 31-year-old man had been shot in the stomach.
As deputies moved the victim from the wooded area, they said they located a small pistol on the ground under the victim’s leg.
The victim reportedly told officers that prior to the incident, he had met with a man named “D” who planned to sell him some speakers. Rather than sell him the speakers, the victim said “D” shot him.
EMS transported the man to MUSC.
During the investigation, detectives said they located another man, a 22-year-old, who was also shot. He, too, was transported to the hospital.
