Although deaths on South Carolina roadways for the year of 2014 are slightly lower than they were up to this point in 2013, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety has released a preliminary report announcing that five people died this weekend alone.
Out of those five, three were inside of a vehicle and two were pedestrians. Of the three inside of a vehicle, two were not wearing a seat belt.
To go even further, out of the 280 motor vehicle fatalities so far in 2014, 138 of them were not wearing seat belts.
Of all of the 2014 motor vehicle fatalities, 13 of them were from Berkeley County.
