ST.STEPHEN, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday 48-year-old Kevin Lee Malay, of St. Stephen, was traveling south on Hoodtown Road when his pickup truck ran off the right side of the road.
Salisbury stated that his truck then crossed over to the left side of the road and struck several trees.
The coroner said Malay was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
His death has been ruled accidental and no other vehicles were involved.
The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
