
SUMMERVILLE, S.C.–Shoppers and employees inside the Walmart at 1317 North Main Street in Summerville were forced to evacuate the building around 2:15 p.m.
According to Captain Jon Rogers with the Summerville Police Department, officers responded to the store after being notified of a suspicious package found on the store’s roof.
Rogers says that management at the store decided to evacuate the building as a safety precaution.
Police say business returned to normal operations within thirty minutes of everyone exiting the building.
They have not stated what was in the box.
