On Wednesday, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Bulow Landing in Ravenel in reference to a body found in the water.
Deputies with Charleston County and Dorchester County both responded to the area, establishing a crime scene and carefully securing the area.
According to investigators, several workers with Charleston County Survey were working at the landing when they discovered a man’s body. One of the men then called 9-1-1.
Authorities say the coroner with Dorchester County eventually arrived on the scene, removing the body from the water.
Crime scene detectives obtained three finger prints from the victim’s right hand, officials say. They were then able to identify the victim as 38-year-old Abner Guadalupe Lopez of Hanahan.
According to an incident report, investigators are treating the death as suspicious.
