BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—The South Carolina Highway Patrol is seeking information about a hit and run collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian Tuesday night.
According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, Peggy Ann Cain, 59, of Cross was found lying on the side of Trojan Road in Cross.
Salisbury says she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
At this time, there is little information about a possible suspect. Troopers are asking people to keep an eye out for a vehicle with passenger side damage. They say the vehicle may also have headlight, fender and side mirror damage.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are currently conducting an investigation.
