BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, a woman died shortly before noon on Friday after the vehicle she was riding in was struck by a dump truck.
The coroner identified the victim as 73-year-old Janice Barnes-Hagberg of Summerville. Salisbury stated that she was a passenger in the vehicle.
He added that she was transported to MUSC and died at 6:03 p.m. from injuries received in the wreck. She was wearing a seat belt.
Salisbury stated that her death has been ruled accidental and was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
