MONCKS CORNER, S.C.—Shortly after 3 o’clock Tuesday morning, firefighters responded to a massive mobile home fire that quickly spread to two other trailers near Ophir Street at Broughton Road.
The properties were located inside Locklairs Landing in Moncks Corner.
Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene including Moncks Corner Rural which was assisted by Whitesville, Santee Circle, Pineridge and Macedonia.
According to Moncks Corner Rural Fire Chief, Scott Lee, all three mobile homes were destroyed.
Fortunately, there were no injuries. Lee stated that the homes were vacant when the fire started.
He added that the fire first started with the middle trailer before spreading to the two others on the left and right side of it.
It took crews less than an hour to get the blaze under control.
None of the trailers, which were used as vacation homes, reportedly had any insurance.
Lee stated the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and remains under investigation.
