SLED agents confirmed they arrested a now-former Summerville police officer Tuesday in connection with pornography involving a minor.
Carlisle Johnson Floyd, 40, of Summerville, was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of from two years up to ten years in prison.
According to the affidavit, the arrest stems from an incident around August 1, 2014 involving Floyd distributing, transporting, exhibiting, receiving, exchanging or soliciting materials that contained minors in a state of sexually explicit nudity.
Floyd was booked at the Dorchester County Detention Center and released on a $30,000 surety bond yesterday.
According to the Summerville Police Departmentâs website, Floyd worked as a school resource officer at Summerville High School and as a volunteer wrestling coach there. Floyd’s profile has since been removed from the department’s website.
The case will be prosecuted by the S.C. Attorney Generalâs Office.
