GOOSE CREEK, S.C.—A Goose Creek police officer is out of a job after troopers with the S.C. Highway Patrol arrested him Sunday morning for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
James Burrell Ross Jr., 46, resigned from the Goose Creek Police Department Monday morning. He’d been with the department for nearly a decade.
Ross, who lives in North Charleston on Meadow Avenue, was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Court records show that his blood alcohol level was less than 0.10.
Ross was released from jail after posting $997 bail.
Authorities say Ross was not on duty and was driving his personal vehicle at the time of his arrest in Charleston County.
Ross is due back in court on November 6th.
