MONCKS CORNER, S.C.—Hibbett Sports is preparing to open its doors for business in Berkeley County.
Workers have been busy renovating the old Blockbuster located at 111 S Highway 52 in Moncks Corner for several weeks now.
The longtime video retailer shut down for good in late January of this year.
About five months after closing, Hibbett Sports made plans into the vacant building.
The store is expected to open to the public some time at the end of the month.
In business since 1945, Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc. operates over 950 sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, predominantly in the Sunbelt, Mid-Atlantic and the Lower Midwest.
The store has two other lowcountry locations in Walterboro and James Island.
