BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. Melvin Glover Jr., 65, of Moncks Corner, was driving his Corvette on Highway 402 when he ran off the left side of the roadway crossing over to the right side and struck a tree.
Salisbury says Glover was coming around a curve in the roadway when he lost control of his vehicle.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by the coroner.
Salisbury stated that Glover was was extricated from his vehicle by The Berkeley County Rescue Squad.
The coroner says Glover was wearing his seatbelt and his vehicle was destroyed.
His death has been ruled accidental.
The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
