GOOSE CREEK, S.C.—Walmart officials have announced they have plans to hire up to 95 employees for one of its future stores to be located along St. James Avenue in Goose Creek.
Goose Creek already has a 24/7 Walmart Supercenter on the same street. This new store will be a Walmart Neighborhood Market.
According to Walmart.com, the neighborhood market format offers quick and convenient shopping, with a full grocery department, including organic and natural selections.
For now, Walmart has established a temporary hiring center at 2110 Greenridge Road, Suite D in North Charleston to accept applications for the new store. Anyone interested in applying can do so from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Walmart is looking to hire both part-time and full-time workers for the new store which is expected to open in Goose Creek sometime in the winter, according to store manager Joey Peters.
“We are excited to be bringing the Walmart Neighborhood Market format to Goose Creek, and this new, convenient shopping option means customers can save money so they can live better,” Peters said.
Walmart officials say that most of the new employees will begin work in December to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
The company will also offer employment to any qualified veteran who is within 12 months of active duty and meets Walmart’s standard hiring criteria through its Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the release states.
In addition to the North Charleston location, applicants can submit an application at the company’s website by clicking here.
