This weekend, zombies invaded the south, and ‘The Berkeley Observer’ got caught up in it all. See, we were there to cover the infection. Unfortunately, we became the victim. We were simply no match for ‘the walkers.’ We called out to the governor for help, but he just tried to shoot us.
Okay—all jokes aside. We were actually in Atlanta for the 2nd annual ‘Walker Stalker Con.’ Anything and everything to do with ‘the living dead’ took center stage here. Of course, you can’t have this sort of event without many of the stars from the hit AMC show ‘The Walking Dead’ in attendance.
Thousands of die-hard ‘Walking Dead’ fans attended the event. (Yours truly included)
Last Sunday, ‘The Walking Dead’ made television history yet again. About 17.3 million people tuned in for the season five premiere, making the ‘The Walking Dead’ the most watched cable show of all time. (Yes, ya’ll, the show is that awesome!). Recently, the show was also renewed for a sixth season.
As Sunday’s ‘Walker Stalker Con’ in Atlanta came to an end, it’s not going away anytime soon. The next event is scheduled for December 13th and 14th in New York. For additional details, click here.
In the meantime, we leave you below with a few of the many photos we took from the three-day event. Enjoy! 🙂
1. Father and son walker
3. Those zombies must’ve been HUNGRY!
4. This was a prop from Terminus (you know, that place where the cannibals lived) that Greg Nicotero had out. Yes, it’s supposed to represent human flesh. It looks disgusting but feels like you’re squeezing a stress ball.
5. I’m amused and scared at the same time.
6. This is the face only a mother could love…or maybe not.
7. This is Greg Nicotero, the executive producer of the show and the guy responsible for turning people into zombies on the show. Very talented guy.
8. This is Greg Nicotero decked out in makeup as a zombie. He occasionally makes appearances on the show as a “walker.”
9. With Laurie Holden who played Andrea on ‘The Walking Dead’ until my man, The Governor (David Morrissey), killed her.
12. T-Dog, Merle, Shane and Hershel could have saved us.
13. We tried. We tried, ya’ll.
14. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🙁
15. More zombies in the making.
16. Just one of the many vendor booths at the event.
Catch “The Walking Dead” every Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC!
