Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men behind only lung cancer, according to health experts.
Studies show that 1 man in 36 will die of prostate cancer, and almost 233,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed this year.
However, more than 2.5 million men in the United States who have had prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. The death rate is decreasing, in part because of early detection.
On Saturday November 8th, Trident Health will be holding “Movember, Motorcycles and Men,” a free prostate cancer screening and men’s health event. In addition to a free screening and men’s health tips, Low Country Harley Davidson will be sponsoring a motorcycle show.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Trident Medical Arts Building, located at 9313 Medical Plaza Drive, next to Trident Medical Center.
Admission is free but registration is required.
Please call 843-797-FIND (3463) to schedule your free prostate screening. If you are interested in entering your motorcycle in the show, please call the Summerville Harley shop at 843-722-9472.
