MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Santee Cooper’s annual ‘Celebrate The Season’ returns for its fourth year to once again bring families and communities together this holiday season.
Thousands of dazzling lights, new light displays, a weekend holiday and crafts fair, an enchanting Bavarian village, snow, and face time with Santa Claus are just some of the goodies awaiting visitors beginning Friday, Nov. 28.
Presented in part by Berkeley Electric Cooperative, ‘Celebrate The Season’ remains a community gift that spreads good cheer throughout the year. Continuing its tradition of giving, all proceeds will again be donated to charities serving Berkeley County. Since 2011, ‘Celebrate The Season’ has donated $297,000 to local organizations like Coastal Community Foundation’s Giving Back to Berkeley Fund and the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center, among others.
‘Celebrate The Season’ features a nightly Holiday Lights Driving Tour with dozens of spectacular light displays. The picturesque route begins at Santee Cooper’s headquarters and winds through the adjacent Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner.

The month-long event is powered with 100 percent Green Power from Santee Cooper and exclusively uses energy-efficient LED lights. Admission is $5 per vehicle, and vehicles can make repeat loops through the display route on the night of admission. ‘Celebrate The Season’ has welcomed more than 24,000 vehicles since 2011.
Weekend Holiday Fairs take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 28 through Dec. 21 at Old Santee Canal Park. Visitors should enter at Santee Cooper’s headquarters and can enjoy free visits with Santa Claus, falling snow, live entertainment, crafting at Santa’s Workshop and other fun attractions. The Holiday Fairs also feature crafts for purchase by local artisans and food, including marshmallows for roasting, for purchase by local charities and schools. The Stony Landing House will be adorned in historical decorations provided by the Town and Village Garden Club. Entry to the Holiday Fair is included with the $5 admission to the Holiday Driving Tour.
‘Celebrate The Season’ is open daily except for Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, and it winds down on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Hours are 6-9:30 p.m., seven days a week.
