BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Clemson Extension Service will be conducting the Servsafe® Food Protection Managers Certification Course on December 2nd.
The course will take place at the Berkeley County Administration Building, 1003 Hwy 52 in Moncks Corner from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm. The cost of the class is $175.
The class is appropriate for restaurant managers and assistant managers, chefs, dietitians, culinary arts instructors, school food service managers, Family and Consumer Science instructors, and others. Upon successful completion of the exam, participants will receive a certificate from the National Restaurant Association and be registered in their data base. The certificate is valid for five years.
The course topics include: Challenges to Food Safety, Microbiology, Contamination, Allergens, Food Safety Systems, The Flow of Food, Maintaining Sanitary Facilities and Equipment, Pest Management and Employee Training. Participants will receive the textbook, training materials, a food thermometer, employee guide and final exam.
