GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The Goose Creek Police Department (GCPD) was awarded its fourth re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®) in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 22, 2014.
The department received its initial accreditation award in 2002.
The Goose Creek Police Department had to undergo a thorough and rigorous on-site review inspection in August by a team of CALEA certified assessors who come from out-of-state agencies.
The inspection covered all aspects of agency operation including, policies, procedures, practices, internal affairs, and community interaction. The on-site assessment team submitted a comprehensive report on its findings to the Commission.
This award underscores the Goose Creek Police Department’s commitment to law enforcement and public safety best practices by virtue of being in compliance with 482 professional standards as independently verified and recognized by the Commission.
In short, this “Gold Standard” accomplishment represents the agency’s dedication to professional excellence. GCPD has received CALEA re-accredited in 2006, 2008, 2011 and now 2014.
