MONCKS CORNER, S.C.—On Thursday, Moncks Corner Police responded to Berkeley Electric Cooperative after a woman reportedly walked into the business and began yelling and cursing out employees after her electricity was reportedly turned off.
According to the incident report, when officers arrived on scene, they approached 26-year-old Erica Haynes who appeared to be under the influence of a “mind-altering substance.”
Officers reportedly attempted to calm Haynes down, but she refused to cooperate and continued to yell and disrupt workers as well as taunt a clerk inside Berkeley Electric Co-op.
While officers tried to deal with Haynes, a separate officer noticed a man walking around in the parking lot of the business as if waiting on someone. The officer approached 29-year-old Bradley Connor who apparently came to the business with Haynes. According to officers, he wreaked of alcohol.
As an officer attempted to escort Haynes out of the building, she reportedly refused to leave. That’s when the cop says he attempted to place her in handcuffs, but she resisted and continued to yell and scream. After officers placed Haynes in the back of the police cruiser, they then searched her vehicle.
According to the incident report, as officers searched the vehicle, they found in plain view a 40 ounce Icehouse plastic beer bottle that appeared “cool to the touch.”
As officers continued to search the vehicle, they say Connor tried to interfere and called the search “bullsh*t.” He was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct.
Officers opened the glove box to the vehicle and found a Walther P22 “loaded and cocked,” ready to be fired, they stated.
“I went to run the serial number on the weapon and found that the serial number was filed off,” stated an officer in the report.
When officers searched the center console, they say they also found a clear glass pipe with white-power residue inside.
Both Connor and Haynes were transported to the Berkeley Co. Detention Center. Haynes was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and a weapons violation.
