Pedestrian hit by car, airlifted to MUSC in critical condition

ambulance GOOSE CREEK, S.C.—According to the Goose Creek Police Department, a pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after a car struck him.

The accident occurred on St. James Avenue near the Goodwill around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

In the incident report, the man who hit the pedestrian told officers he attempted to swerve to keep from striking him but missed.

The 59-year-old was airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina and placed in the intensive care unit (ICU).

He is currently listed in critical condition.
