BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A Goose Creek man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he rammed his car into a deputy’s cruiser, causing it to catch on fire.

Clinton Joseph Clark, 28, has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated assault. He’s also facing several weapons and stolen vehicle charges.

On Sunday morning, a deputy reportedly stopped Clark for speeding in Sangaree.

Deputies say he then took off and led officers on a chase. During the pursuit, they say Clark rammed a second officer assisting in the chase.

His car then crashed into the Tractor Supply parking lot on 17-A before catching on fire.

Luckily, the deputy got out in the nick of time and is doing okay.

Deputies say Clark was eventually arrested after fleeing the vehicle and running toward the area of Black Tom Road and Queenie Road.

A judge set his bond at $185,000.
