BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–During the January 13th Berkeley County Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Rodney Thompson announced that the attendance lines for Berkeley Intermediate School, Berkeley Elementary School and Whitesville Elementary School will not be changed for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Plans to change the attendance zones and grade configurations for Berkeley Intermediate School, Berkeley Elementary School and Whitesville Elementary School may be revisited once a confirmed opening date for Foxbank Elementary School is determined, school officials stated.
The School Board will not vote to change school attendance lines for these schools for the 2015-2016 school year.
There are also plans to recommend to the School Board the conversion of Berkeley Intermediate School and Berkeley Elementary School into K-5 schools in the 2016-2017 school year.
Berkeley County School District conducted two public meetings about proposed changes to attendance zones in the Cane Bay, College Park and Sangaree areas.
Board members and administrators attended both meetings and answered questions. Because there are no changes to the attendance lines for Moncks Corner’s current intermediate and elementary schools, there will not be a meeting to show the proposed changes attendance lines tomorrow, Thursday, January 15.
