MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to the American Red Cross, disaster-trained volunteers are assisting a family of five whose home, located on Skyland Lane in Moncks Corner, caught on fire earlier today.
The Red Cross is helping meet the immediate needs of the three adults and two children by providing temporary lodging, financial assistance for food and clothes, comfort kits, and referrals to partner agencies for long-term recovery.
In South Carolina the Red Cross responds to a disaster approximately every four hours, the majority of these being home fires.
