BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to BCSO Spokesperson Dan Moon, after receiving credible information that there was stolen property located at a residence at 341 Oxford Road in Ladson, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained a search warrant for the property.
Moon says a John Deere Gator valued at $12,000 and a tow-behind barbeque grill valued at $4,000 were located behind the home partially covered by tarps.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the John Deere Gator and the tow-behind barbeque grill had been stolen from Stratford High School, as well as a Bad Boy zero turn lawnmower valued at $12,000–which has not been recovered.
If anyone has any information on where this mower may be located contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at 843-709-4412.
Moon says a 15-year-old juvenile who resides at the residence has been arrested and charged with felony-level receiving or possessing stolen property.
He was transferred to the custody of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. Detectives said the investigation is ongoing and expect additional arrests in this case.
Acting Sheriff Rick Ollic said he wished to thank the community for assisting with the investigation and said that these types of investigations are much more successful when the community provides valuable information which aids in the investigation.
