BONNEAU, S.C.–Friday afternoon, American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers assisted a family of five, two adults and three children, whose home located on Lake Moultrie Drive in Bonneau was destroyed by fire.
The Bonneau Fire Department responded to the blaze.
The Red Cross provided the family with financial assistance for food and clothing, along with comfort kits containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner agencies to help with the victims’ long-term recovery.
In 2013, the Palmetto South Carolina Region assisted 7,118 individuals affected by disaster.
