The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a strange looking feline. For all we know it could very well be roaming around in Berkeley County.
According to deputies, an owner was walking her 10-month-old African Serval on a walking trail near Bassett Court on James Island when it got frightened by a dog.
The Serval slipped out of its harness and ran into the woods.
It weighs 35 pounds with yellowish/orange type fur with black spots similar to that of a Cheetah. In fact, its name is ‘Cheeto.’
The Serval is de-clawed in the front only and is nocturnal.
According to the owner, the Serval is not aggressive and has a microchip implanted in it.
The Serval was last seen on James Island on February 22, 2015.
If anyone sees or spot the African Serval they are asked to call the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center at 843.743.7200 or HomeAgain Pet Finders at 1.888.466.3242.
