BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–An early morning crash caused quite the scare for a Berkeley Co. bus driver headed to school early Wednesday morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, shortly after 6 a.m., the driver of the school bus came to a complete stop while on South Live Oak Drive near Oakley Road in Moncks Corner.
That’s when Trooper Hannah Wimberly says a van hit the back of it.
Fortunately, there were no children on the bus at the time of the crash, and the bus driver was not injured.
Three people were reportedly inside the van. They were transported to the hospital after first responders tore the doors off of the van to get them out.
Wimberly says the driver of the van has been charged with driving too fast for conditions.
