ST. STEPHEN, S.C.–According to an American Red Cross spokesperson, disaster-trained volunteers were on the scene following a Friday night fire that caused major damage to a home located on Hood Street.
A family of four, two adults and two children, were reportedly impacted.
The St. Stephen Fire Department responded to the blaze.
The Red Cross provided funds for food and clothing, as well as comfort kits, containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with the family’s long term recovery.
Last year, the Palmetto South Carolina Region assisted more than 7,000 individuals affected by disaster.
