BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to district officials, Cane Bay High School was placed on full lockdown from approximately 10:05 to 10:48 a.m. this morning based on law enforcement recommendations.
District officials took the extra precaution of also placing Cane Bay Elementary School and Cane Bay Middle School on administrative lockdown at 10:05 a.m.
Based on initial reports, district officials say a Cane Bay High School student opened a locked door and allowed two unidentified males to enter the school.
The males were seen in the hallways and have since left the building on foot.
The schools remained on administrative lockdown until 11:16 a.m. until the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they had taken the two males into custody.
