BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Ingrid Dukes, Principal of College Park Middle School, was selected to serve on State Superintendent of Education, Mollie Spearman’s, Principal Advisory Council.
“I am very excited to be given this opportunity and I’m equally excited that our State Superintendent is opening dialogue with school administrators,” Dukes said.
Superintendent Spearman formed the Principal’s Advisory Council to gain principals’ perspective on education in South Carolina schools. Participating principals are able to provide updates about their schools and communities, hot-button topics as well as what improvements can be made by working together.
Superintendent Spearman said, “Principals play an important role in our school community. Great teachers want to work for great principals. The principals on this council have already proven themselves with their ability to lead. They will play a valuable role in advising me on ways to develop the next generation of great principals in South Carolina.”
The first Principal Advisory Council meeting was Thursday, March 12, 2015. The council will be twice a year.
